What time is check-in?
Check-in is available from 3:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. If you’re arriving late, please contact the innkeeper for instructions. We can also accommodate bag drop-off for those arriving early. Feel free to call us before your arrival to confirm your expected arrival time—we’re happy to assist!
Can I access my room early?
We guarantee your room will be ready by 3:00 p.m. However, we always strive to have rooms available as early as possible and will do our best to accommodate early check-in requests made in advance.
What time is checkout?
Checkout is by 11:00 a.m. If you require a later checkout, please contact the innkeeper to see if it can be arranged. We appreciate your understanding, as we need time to prepare the room for our next guests.
Payment
Do I need to give a credit card number even if I am using a gift certificate?
Yes, our reservation system requires a credit card for all bookings. A valid credit card is mandatory for every reservation, even when using a prepaid gift certificate.
Does Christopher Dodge House offer discounts?
Yes, but they must be requested at the time the reservation is made.
We offer a $10 discount for AAA members, valid Sunday through Thursday only.

Breakfast
What time is breakfast?
Breakfast is served daily in the Dining Room on the first floor with two seating options:
Monday – Friday: 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
You are welcome to arrive anytime within your chosen one-hour time frame.
For guests unable to attend breakfast, we offer a convenient breakfast bag option, which will be placed in your room’s fridge the night before.
Is breakfast included in my stay?
Yes, each morning we offer a complimentary hot-plated breakfast with two delicious options to choose from. You can also enjoy our selection of continental offerings while your hot dish is being prepared.
Can you accommodate special dietary needs?
Yes, with advance notice. If you have special dietary needs, it is imperative that you inform us of your needs when you make your reservation.

Where is Christopher Dodge House located within Providence?
We are located just minutes from downtown Providence, offering a peaceful retreat with easy access to the city’s attractions. The Rhode Island State House is just a stone’s throw away, Waterplace Park is only a 5-minute drive, and the Brown University and RISD campuses are just a 6-minute drive.
Do I need a car?
A car is not necessary for exploring most of Providence’s key attractions, as many are within walking distance. However, having a car can be convenient if you plan to visit nearby areas, such as Newport, or explore more of Rhode Island’s scenic spots.

Is there really a Christopher Dodge?
Christopher G. Dodge was a respected dyer by trade and a successful, prominent citizen of Providence. His contributions to the city extended beyond his profession—he even served as mayor of Providence for a time. In 1858, he commissioned the construction of the stately home that now operates as the Christopher Dodge House Bed & Breakfast, a lasting reflection of his legacy and the city’s rich history. b. 1809 – d.1888
Is there parking on site?
Yes, we offer complimentary on-site parking, along with access to an overflow lot located just one block away. A parking pass must be obtained at the office upon arrival.
Do you have an electric vehicle charger?
While we do not have an EV charger on-site, there are several nearby charging stations available for your convenience.
Is there a place for smoking?
The Christopher Dodge House is a non-smoking establishment, however, there are outside areas for smoking.
What do I do if I lose or can’t find my key?
Just call the main number (401-352-6111) and someone will assist you.
Are there any curfews at Christopher Dodge House?
Each guest is provided with a front door key and a room key, allowing you to come and go as you please. We kindly ask that you be mindful of other guests by keeping noise to a minimum when entering or leaving the premises.
Will my room be cleaned every day?
Daily housekeeping services are available upon request. To request housekeeping during your stay, please place the housekeeping door knob hanger on your doorknob before noon.
Is lunch and dinner available at Christopher Dodge House?
We do not provide any meals other than breakfast. Our restaurant list includes recommendations for lunch, as well as options for dinner.
Is there a sitting area in the home other than the guest rooms?
Yes, there are many beautiful spaces to enjoy at the bed and breakfast.
Common Room: A sun-filled space with comfortable seating and a large table, perfect for puzzles, games, or working on your laptop.
Outdoor Patios: Two relaxing patio areas adorned with Edison string lights and cozy seating. Breakfast is often served here during the warmer months.
Do you have an elevator?
Due to the historic nature of the building, we do not have an elevator. Our rooms are accessed by the beautifully restored original staircases.
Do you allow children?
Children of all ages are welcome. Children 13 and over are charged the same as adults, those 12 and under stay for free.
Do you allow pets?
No. Unfortunately, due to potential pet interactions and guest allergies, we cannot allow pets at the bed & breakfast.
